A brand new leak surrounding the iPhone 17 Air gives us an idea about the battery capacity and its weight.
iPhone 17 Air will Feature a Smaller 2800mAh Battery While Being Just 145g in Weight
The iPhone 17 Air is set to be Apple’s thinnest smartphone to date. While the leaks do say the Air will be just 5.5mm thin, how will that translate to other parts of the phone? Such as battery capacity and weight?
According to a new leak on Naver, the iPhone 17 Air will definitely feature a smaller battery capacity. The leak says it will be just 2800mAh.
The second thing worth noting is the weight of the iPhone 17 Air. The leak suggests it is going to come in at 145g. That is very, very light for a phone that will have a 6.7-inch display.
The wild thing about the weight is how it’s almost as heavy as the iPhone mini. That is insanely lightweight for a huge phone.
When it comes to battery life, that 2800mAh number might be a little concerning for some users. But Apple is said to implement AI to manage the battery life on the iPhone 17 Air, which could help the phone survive an entire day without being plugged in.
There is also a possibility that Apple might resurrect the Smart Battery Case for the iPhone 17 Air.
But given the amount of times we pull out our smartphone to watch a Reel or two, or ten, I doubt this phone will even make it till the evening.
Another thing we are ignoring is the new A19 chip, which will definitely draw more power compared to the A18 found in the iPhone 16 lineup. So, things like that really don’t help with the battery cause.
