macOS 27.2 Golden Gate Now Available for Download Over the Air with New Features, Changes, and Improvements
macOS 27.2 is finally available for download after being in beta for a long, long time. The update has a bunch of new features on offer, including a ton of important bug fixes and performance improvements.
According to Apple:
This update provides enhancements to Siri AI with the ability to retain useful context from previous Siri interactions as well as draw from a wider range of personal context. It also introduces Suggestions in Messages that help you take quick actions in apps like Calendar and Reminders based on context from your conversation. This release includes additional features, bug fixes, and security updates for your Mac.
If you already have the macOS 27.2 RC installed, you don’t have to do anything. Everyone else can follow these steps in order to download the latest update:
- Launch the System Settings app.
- Click on General from the list of options on the left.
- Now click on Software Update.
- When you see “macOS 27.2 Golden Gate”, click on the “Update Now” button next to it.
The update may take a while to download and will be installed immediately. You can delay the update to install later, if you prefer that. But I recommend installing it immediately, especially if you’re not doing anything on your Mac.
You can download the new macOS 27.2 Golden Gate firmware file for every Apple silicon Mac. You’ll find it linked below:
You can use the firmware file to restore or revive another Apple silicon Mac using a USB-C or Thunderbolt cable.
