I’m sure you’ve seen the iPhone 17 Air dummy hands-on video already on YouTube. Here are my 2 cents on it.
iPhone 17 Air Dummy Unit Hands-on Gets an Interesting Reaction When Compared to the Thick iPhone 17 Pro
The iPhone 17 Air is all set to materialize later this year. With dummy models floating around and even hands-on videos available, the Unbox Therapy video stands out.
Have a look at the video below and see the reaction by Lew Hilsenteger. It’s exactly what Apple expects when you hold something so thin in your hands.
When put under the caliper, the iPhone 17 Air is 5.65mm thin. According to Lew, it feels like half the iPhone 17 Pro’s thickness.
The reaction from him is definitely interesting, because he goes to say that the thick iPhone 17 Pro feels ‘antiquated’ compared to the 17 Air. And that’s the pull Apple is going to use this year when selling the iPhone 17 Air.
Smartphones have been chasing the same formula for years now – a thick and heavy piece of metal that is packed with the biggest battery, the loudest speakers, the fastest charging and more.
However, if someone sees a super-thin smartphone in all that noise, that’s the phone you’ll point at and say ‘what’s that?’. That phone is going to be the iPhone 17 Air.
I can say one thing for certain right now which everyone else will at the end of the year too: though the 17 Air is going to be a compromise in terms of internal specs, everyone will round it up by saying ‘but you’re getting a really thin and light phone in return.’
