You now download and install the RC (Release Candidate) version of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 on iPhone and iPad.
Final Version of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 Now Available to Download for Beta Testers as RC Seed
If you’re a registered developer or public beta tester, you can go ahead and download the iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 RC updates immediately. RC is the final version of the software, but only available for beta testers.
What this means is, anyone can sign up for the beta and download the new RC updates. You really don’t have to wait until next week to enjoy the final version of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 when you can download everything right now.
To keep things simple, I’m going to suggest signing up for the public beta program from Apple. Just head over to beta.apple.com, and then sign in using your Apple Account. Once you’ve done that, enable iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 public beta updates by going to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Update on your iPhone or iPad.
Once that is out of the way, the iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 RC will become available for download in the Software Update section. Tap on the Update Now button and the update will start to download and install.
If you don’t see the update at all, it’s likely that your device isn’t compatible with iOS 27 or iPadOS 27. You can see the full list of compatible devices by going to this link.
The same version of the software will become available to download for everyone next week. Since you’ve waited this much already, it’s perfectly fine to wait a week extra.
For some reason, downloading Apple software on the day of its actual release date feels more ‘official’, and that’s what I do on my personal devices. But, if you can’t wait any longer, the option to download the RC version is available.
