Developer beta 8 of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 is now available for download on iPhone and iPad over the air.
iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 Developer Beta 8 Now Available for Download, Likely the Last Beta Before the Final Version
Apple is releasing beta updates with stability improvements on a weekly basis. With iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 beta 7 arriving last week, today the eighth developer beta is available for download on iPhone and iPad with even more improvements related to overall stability.
Assuming you do have the seventh beta already installed on your device, follow these steps in order to download the latest update:
- Make sure your device has 50% or more battery remaining.
- Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
- Go to Settings > General > Software Update on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap on the Update Now button when you see the eighth beta.
Apple released iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 public beta 5 right after the seventh developer beta was released last week, so it’s safe to assume that public beta 6 should follow the same pattern today.

Since Apple is going to announce new iPhones next week at its ‘Surprise and Shine’ event, it’s possible that this is the last beta of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27. Apple will likely release the RC (Release Candidate) build to developers and public beta after the event.
If the final release of iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 are anything to go by, then we should see the final versions of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 a week after the RC becomes available.
