Apple has stopped signing iOS 26.6.2 and iPadOS 26.2.2 which means you can no longer downgrade from iOS 27 and iPadOS 27.

iOS 26.6.2 and iPadOS 26.6.2 No Longer Signed by Apple, Users Can No Longer Downgrade iOS 27 and iPadOS 27

If you upgraded to iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 on day one, then iOS 26.6.2 and iPadOS 26.6.2 were the last firmware updates you were running on your iPhone and iPad. This also means you had a brief window in which you could downgrade back to the older firmware.

Today, Apple has stopped signing the iOS 26.6.2 and iPadOS 26.6.2 firmware updates, which means you no longer have the choice to go back to iOS 26 or iPadOS 26. No matter what you try, you’re staying on iOS 27 and iPadOS 27.

For those who didn’t want to upgrade to iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, Apple released iOS 26.7 and iPadOS 26.7 updates. But you had to install the optional update the day version 27.0 was released. If you blinked, you missed it.

Given how great the new version 27.0 updates are, I don’t see any reason why you should stick around on older software. The new updates are faster, include a ton of refinements, especially to Liquid Glass, and best of all, you get access to Siri AI.

If you do plan on updating to iOS 27 or iPadOS 27, it’s as easy as going to Settings > General > Software Update. Once here, you’ll see an option to either download 26.7, or 27 at the bottom. Make your choice, and keep your iPhone and iPad up to date.
