A new report sheds light on the keyboard and Apple Pencil features coming to iOS 19 and iPadOS 19 updates for iPhone and iPad.
iOS 19 and iPadOS 19 to Feature Advanced Bi-Directional Keyboard and New Calligraphy Pen Option
We know quite a bit about iOS 19 and iPadOS 19. We know that it will feature a brand-new UI, there will be an AI-powered battery management system, it will feature Wi-Fi-related updates, and more.
Today, Mark Gurman has chimed in and shared some new information about the updates. One is related to the keyboard, and the other one is about Apple Pencil.
According to the report, iOS 19 and iPadOS 19 are set to feature a ‘highly advanced bi-direction keyboard.’ This will allow users to switch between English and Arabic on the fly.
Why Arabic? Because Apple is ambitious about markets, such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia, and wants to make sure its devices cater to the users living there, allowing them to switch between English and Arabic in a snap.
In iPadOS 19, Apple Pencil users will be greeted to a new calligraphy pen, which will be used to write Arabic script. Again, something that caters to the markets mentioned above.
I have this feeling Apple is going to deliver a ton of new features with iOS 19 and iPadOS 19. With every passing minute, we are treated to something really, really interesting.
Apple is all set to announce iOS 19 and iPadOS 19 next month at WWDC 2025. Apple is also said to not touch upon Siri that much during its keynote and will instead focus on the new features for iPhone and iPad.
Also, it is expected that Apple is not goin got announce features way in advance this time around, which I believe is a solid move.
