According to a new report, Apple’s advanced version of Siri is ‘on par ‘ with ChatGPT, at least internally.
Apple’s Internal Version of Advanced Siri is ‘on Par’ with ChatGPT and Making Big Progress
Apple really did wrong with a lot of people by announcing an advanced version of Siri only to never release it as part of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS 15.
However, Tim Cook did say the company is working on it, and he looks forward to getting the new features in the hands of everyone.
Behind the scenes, we have no idea what’s going on in the world of Siri development.
But, a detailed report by Mark Gurman sheds light on the matter and suggests that Apple has made massive strides with Siri. So much, in fact, that internally some executives believe Siri is ‘on par’ with ChatGPT.
That’s a mighty bold claim.
What’s really interesting here is how Apple now believes having a proper chatbot is extremely important. Craig Federighi said in an interview that Apple isn’t just working on a chatbot like everyone else; it wants to do things differently.
Interestingly, this massive progress by Siri was made in the past six months alone. Apple is also considering giving Siri the ability to access the Internet to gather data as well.
Basically, Apple has accepted that it has to take the route which OpenAI took in order to go anywhere with Siri at all.
Last but not least, Apple is also in talks with Perplexity and Google to use their AI with Siri as well. This will give users more choice when the need arises.
