Apple Music and Universal Music Group has announced a brand new playlist of music with enhanced tracks from artists called ‘Sound Therapy.’

Apple and UMG Announce ‘Sound Therapy’ for Apple Music, Helping Users to Focus, Relax and Sleep

Whether you want to turn your HomePod or Mac into a white noise machine, or listen to relaxing music on your iPhone or iPad, Apple has all the bases covered.

Today, Apple has partnered with Universal Music Group to take listening to a new level with the announcement of ‘Sound Therapy.’

Basically, your favorite tracks are being optimized to help you “focus, relax, and sleep.”

This is done by enhancing existing songs with auditory beats and colored noise. When these are introduced to a piece of music, your brain may give a specific response.

The tracks are from artists like Imagine Dragons, Katy Perry, Kacey Musgraves and more, so you can rest assured you’ll find something that clicks your taste. And of course, this list will eventually expand as time goes on.

All of this stuff is backed up by proper science, but it may or may not work for everyone. Apple is very explicit about this in its press release.

Here’s a video telling you exactly how Sound Therapy works. If you’re a science nerd, you’re going to enjoy this one.

If you’re subscribed to Apple Music right now, you can check out the Sound Therapy: Focus, Relax and Sleep playlists right now.
