Anyone can download and install the macOS 27 Golden Gate RC update for the Mac right now in a few simple steps.
Apple Releases macOS 27 Golden Gate RC Update, Now Available to Download for Developers and Public Beta Testers
Keeping the tradition of releasing RC updates right after an iPhone event alive, the macOS 27 RC is now available for download as well. If you have been testing the macOS 27 developer beta or the public beta, you can download the update by simply going to System Settings > General > Software Update.
Since this is AnotherApple, it means everyone has to know how they can download the macOS 27 RC update as well. Turns out, it’s completely possible, and all you have to do is sign up to Apple’s public beta software program, and the RC will become available to you immediately.
In order to do that, open the beta.apple.com website in Safari, or any browser of your choice, and sign in using the Apple Account which you are using on your Mac. Once you’ve done that, launch System Settings, then go to General > Software Update > Beta Updates.
Choose the macOS 27 Golden Gate Public Beta option from here, and then click on Done. After a few seconds, the RC update will become available for download. Click on Update Now, and you’re good to go.
If you don’t see the option to download the update at all, it’s likely because you have an incompatible Mac. Apple says the new macOS Golden Gate update works with an Apple silicon-powered Mac only.
