Developer beta 1 of visionOS 2.6 is now available for download and install if you have a Vision Pro.

Apple has Just Released the First Beta of visionOS 2.6 for Vision Pro, Download it Today if You’re a Developer

Though this update does not feature the new spatial widgets from visionOS 26, you do get a lot of bug fixes and other refinements with visionOS 2.6 beta 1.

Currently available for developers only, you can test out the beta on your Vision Pro headset if you are willing to test out the new changes ahead of everyone else.

First and foremost, you do need a working Apple Developer Program account. Luckily, it’s absolutely free, and all you have to do is sign up here for it.

Once signed up, you can simply enable the beta update on your Vision Pro headset by going to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates. Enable the visionOS 2 Developer Beta and then download the latest visionOS 2.6 beta 1 straight onto your headset.

Though it doesn’t need to be said, but once you do upgrade to the beta operating system, you cannot downgrade back, unless you have the Apple Developer Strap. If you don’t, then it’s okay to assume that you do not have the luxury of downgrading at all.

Keep that risk in mind if you’re thinking about testing beta updates on your Vision Pro.
