The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is finally shown to the world as a working, real product, and it has me excited for the iPhone 17 Air.

A Thin Phone Like the Galaxy S25 Edge Immediately Stands Out, this Makes the iPhone 17 Air More Exciting

Smartphones have converged to a single point where batteries are huge, refresh rates are high, cameras put a massive bump on the back – you get the jive.

In the midst of all this, phones stopped being the slick and cool devices they once were.

However, once Samsung showed a fully working Galaxy S25 Edge, that too up for pre-order, my excitement for iPhone 17 Air doubled.

Say what you want, hear what you will, but the S25 Edge is a beautiful phone that deserves a look. It immediately stands out from the colossal phones we see every single year.

It’s time to go back to ‘thin and light.’

As someone who did not upgrade to the iPhone 16 because the latest model doesn’t offer much, and it certainly lacks the wow factor, the iPhone 17 Air suddenly feels like a phone I can vouch for.

I know the iPhone 17 Air sounds like a downgrade if you take all the rumors into account, but I’m just frustrated with the same iPhone 12 design being rehashed every single year.

A single camera is more than enough. I rely on the main lens more than any other anyway. At best, I will do a 2x zoom or just crop in later myself.

Slightly worse battery life is a tradeoff I’m willing to accept too. The amount of MagSafe chargers I have around me solves that issue.

For me, an iPhone that immediately stands out from the crowd is exactly what I need. That iPhone is the 17 Air.
