The iPhone 17 lineup, set for release later this year, might have a higher starting price compared to the iPhone 16 launched last year.
Apple Considering Bumping up iPhone 17 Price, Not Because of Tariffs
According to a new report by WSJ, Apple is considering to increase the price of the iPhone 17 lineup later this year. This has nothing to do with tariffs at all. Apple is doing this to justify the features and upgrades it is going to sell to consumers.
In terms of features, the new iPhone 17 lineup is definitely set to offer a lot of great upgrades. A recent report did say the lineup will ship with 12GB of RAM, which will definitely help with performance.
However, it remains uncertain if the baes model will get the RAM upgrade too.
Apart from that, Apple is going to offer a beefed up iPhone 17 Pro Max, o phone that might end up being called the Ultra, thanks to its excessive features such as a massive battery, high performance cameras, and more.
The iPhone 16 lineup starts at $599, that too for the newly launched iPhone 16e model. If Apple is planning to raise the price, it will be interesting to see if they’re planning to do that starting from the iPhone 17e model or the iPhone 17.
Do keep in mind that Apple is just ‘considering’ the price increase. They might not actually do it at all.
