Apple has stopped signing two software updates for iPhone and iPad today, and they are iOS 27.0 and iPadOS 27.0.

With iOS 27.0.1 and iPadOS 27.0.1 Now Available for Download, Apple has Stopped Signing Version 27.0 of the Software

The initial and final versions of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 are no longer being signed by Apple. With iOS 27.0.1 and iPadOS 27.0.1 being the latest updates for iPhone and iPad, it makes perfect sense too.

While this news doesn’t mean much for the average user, if you were planning to downgrade back to version 27.0, you can no longer do that. Instead, you will be directed to iOS 27.0.1 and iPadOS 27.0.1.

At this point, I will not recommend staying on older software updates at all. The new iOS 27.0.1 and iPadOS 27.0.1 updates contain a lot of bug fixes, especially for iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max users. If your new iPhone randomly restarts, the 27.0.1 update fixes that issue once and for all.

In order to download the latest iOS and iPadOS updates, all you have to do is go to Settings > General > Software Update. You can either download the update over Wi-Fi or 5G. You will be required to have at least 50% or more battery life remaining as well.
