You can now download iOS 27.0.1 for iPhone, and iPadOS 27.0.1 for iPad with important bug fixes.

iOS 27.0.1 Now Available for Download with Fix for Restart Bug on iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, Download it Today

Apple has released the first ever update to its iOS 27.0 and iPadOS 27.0 software lineup. As you’d expect, both updates fix bugs, that too important ones.

The iOS 27.0.1 update is mainly aimed towards iPhone 18 Pro users where the device may unexpectedly restart after a Face ID attempt, and an artifact may appear on a photo when shooting at f/1.48 aperture.

According to Apple:

This update provides bug fixes for your iPhone, including fixes for the following Issues:

  • iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max may unexpectedly restart when Face ID fails to authenticate
  • A color artifact may appear on photos captured at 2x under certain lighting conditions at f/1.48 on a small number of
    ¡Phone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max

For iPad users, the iPadOS 27.0.1 update is also available for download. Apple says the update fixes bug, but does not specify which ones. At this point, it doesn’t matter, because it’s nice to know an update offers improvements over older software.

If you want to download iOS 27.0.1 and iPadOS 27.0.1 right now, all you have to do is go to Settings > General > Software Update. Tap on Update Now when you see the 27.0.1 update.

I will highly recommend installing this update immediately, especially if you have an iPhone 18 Pro or iPhone 18 Pro Max. You really don’t want to be seen with Apple’s flagship phone that randomly restarts, or takes photos with artifacts in them, right?
