New macOS 26 Tahoe Beta 3 Available for Download with Bug Fixes and Under-the-Hood Refinements for the Mac
With macOS 26 Tahoe, Liquid Glass comes to the Mac. If you have been testing out the new UI and the great features that come as part of the latest operating system, then you can take things one step further today.
Apple has just released developer beta 3 of macOS 26 Tahoe, and it is available for download over the air right now. You can install it like any other macOS update, but I’m sure you already knew that.
Here’s what you have to do:
Step 1. Launch System Settings.
Step 2. Click on General, then click on Software Update.
Step 3. Wait for the page to refresh and you’ll see macOS 26 Tahoe beta 3. Click on Update Now next to it.
You don’t need to pay for the Apple Developer Program in order to download and install the macOS 26 Tahoe beta. You can sign up for it for free, and you’ll find the details posted here.
I won’t suggest installing beta software on a Mac that is your daily driver. If you have something spare Mac lying around, just use that to check out the new beta.
It’s really not worth putting yourself through this much trouble for the sake of checking out what’s new. After all, beta software is extremely unpredictable and will land you into a lot of trouble in the strangest of places.
However, do know that you do need a compatible Mac in order to test out the software. Apple is focusing more on Apple silicon, and this is the last macOS update that supports the Intel Mac.
Last but not least, the first public beta of macOS 26 should be available very soon. There’s a chance Apple might release it this week or maybe the next one.
