According to Apple, the new iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 3D Lock Screen feature is limited to certain iPhone and iPad models.

A few Devices Won’t Get the New iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 3D Lock Screen and Wallpapers

While the feature is limited to certain devices, do keep in mind that your device is likely covered.

According to Apple, you need an iPhone 12 or newer in order to experience the new 3D Lock Screen on iOS 26. This means the iPhone 11, the oldest iOS 26 supported device is out of luck, while everything else is supported.

From Apple:

Available on iPhone 12 and later.

When it comes to iPad and iPadOS 26, a lot of models are supported, and you really have to dig deep to see if yours isn’t in the list.

This is what Apple’s fine print says:

Available on iPad Pro (M4), iPad Pro 12.9-inch (5th generation and later), iPad Pro 11-inch (3rd generation and later), iPad Air (M2 and later), iPad Air (5th generation and later), iPad (A16), iPad mini (A17 Pro), and iPad mini (6th generation).

I’m guessing the Lock Screen feature has more to do with the GPU than the CPU. The iPhone 11 is a very old device at this point, and it’s not surprising that this feature is not coming to it due to its weaker GPU.

The good news is, Liquid Glass is coming to all iPhone and iPad models, which is nice. But it remains to be seen how it will fare in daily use. After all, the UI is now GPU-intensive. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if older devices drop a few frames every now and then.
