New AirPods Beta Firmware 8A293c for AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4 Now Available for Download with Bug Fixes
Apple released iOS 26, macOS 26, watchOS 26, visionOS 26, tvOS 26, and HomePod 26 beta firmware updates yesterday. Guess what’s missing? AirPods.
Today, Apple has released a new beta firmware update for the AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4 (both models).
The new firmware carries the build number 8A293c, and it is available to download and install right now over the air. Just keep your AirPods in their charging case close to your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, and the update should install soon.
Although Apple didn’t say the new firmware update brings to the table, but it’s safe to assume it fixes bugs, improves performance, and the usual stuff in a beta update.
If you want to sign up and test out the new beta firmware on your AirPods 4 or AirPods Pro 2, you can either use your iPhone or iPad, or your Mac.
Remember, you do need iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS 26 Tahoe installed in order to download and install the new AirPods beta firmware update.
The new AirPods update brings a lot of cool new features to the table. This includes studio-quality audio recording which is great for recording podcast, and the ability to use the AirPods as a camera remote for iPhone and iPad.
There are features which Apple didn’t talk about. This includes features like charging reminders, and automatic pause when the user falls asleep. Overall, a great new software update.
