Apple has announced two new features coming to AirPods: studio-quality audio recording and camera remote.
Apple is Bringing Studio-Quality Audio Recording and Camera Remote Feature to AirPods
In all the noise of WWDC 2025, Apple announced a couple of features coming to the AirPods as well. First and foremost, these features are coming to the following models:
- AirPods 4
- AirPods 4 (ANC)
- AirPods Pro 2
There are two important features coming to these AirPods, and they are as follows:
Studio-Quality Audio Recording
Voice Isolation was an amazing feature addition to AirPods, but with studio-quality audio recording, users can now record audio in the best possible quality using the microphones on the AirPods.
Studio-quality audio is not just great for recording music or podcasts, it extends to phone calls as well. You’ll always sound great, as long as you have the above AirPods models.
Camera Remote
You can now use your AirPods as a remote for controlling your iPhone and iPad. Just press and hold the stem of your AirPods to start or stop a video recording. You can also use this gesture to take a photo as well.
This is a very good feature for users who don’t want to hit the record button and run behind the iPhone to be in the video or photo. Just walk away and start recording whenever you feel like, straight from AirPods.
Apple says that these features will be available with iOS 26, iPadOS 26 and macOS 26 Tahoe.
