Apple is working on an all-new MacBook Ultra that will sit above the MacBook Pro lineup with a bunch of premium features.
All-New MacBook Ultra Set for Release Later this Year with Premium Features Such as OLED Touchscreen Display
The MacBook Neo really puts the Mac back on the map thanks to its low price point. But it seems as though Apple wants to capture more price points with more high-end devices as well.
Previously, we heard on a number of occasions that Apple is working on a new MacBook Pro with an OLED touchscreen display, but it turns out, it may just be a completely new MacBook lineup.
According to Mark Gurman in his PowerOn newsletter, the new ‘MacBook Ultra’ will be offered alongside the newly released M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro models, and will feature premium upgrades such as an OLED display, touchscreen capability, a thinner design, and more.
In plain and simple words, the M5 MacBook Pro lineup will exist alongside this new MacBook Ultra lineup, giving users a choice of which one they want to go for.
This new Ultra notebook will likely launch at the end of this year. But it remains to be seen which Apple silicon chip will power this notebook. It likely won’t be the base M6 chip, and if Apple is planning to charge a premium on this MacBook, then shipping it with the M6 Pro or Max as standard makes more sense.
