The base model of the MacBook Neo that costs $599 does not come with Touch ID. You have to pay $100 extra for it.

MacBook Neo Includes Touch ID, Only if Your’e Willing to Pay $100 Extra

Apple’s MacBook Neo is advertised to include Touch ID. But, little do people know that the base model of the Neo with 256GB of storage does not come with Touch ID.

Instead, you have to pay $100 extra in order to get Touch ID. With that extra money, you also get 512GB of storage as well. In other words, the 512GB version comes with Touch ID only.

Should you pay extra for Touch ID? It depends on how much you dislike typing passwords. Because quite honestly, Touch ID does make things a lot easier, especially when it comes to authorizing payments and downloading apps.

If you consider yourself the most average laptop user on the planet, then bypass the upgrade and you won’t miss out on anything, really.

Given the amount of value the MacBook Neo delivers, I can’t rip the notebook apart from not having a fingerprint scanner at the base price. It’s just too good to be true, and hard to imagine how Apple was able to pull this notebook off.
