The MacBook Neo includes two USB-C ports for charging and connecting devices. However, both aren’t identical.

MacBook Neo has One 480Mbps USB 2 Port, and One 10Gbps USB 3 Port – Both Can Charge, But the Other is Faster and Does More

Now that the MacBook Neo is official, we’re starting to learn more about the notebook as time moves on. And the first thing that’s worth talking about are those two USB-C ports.

One port is USB 3, while the other one is USB 2. The USB 3 port is capable of charging, connecting displays, and supports up to 10Gbps speeds. On the other hand, the USB 2 port supports charging, and data transfer rates of 480Mbps.

It’s evident that the USB 2 port cannot be used for connecting an external display at all.

If you’re only going to use those USB-C ports for charging your MacBook Neo, then this difference is not going to cause any problem at all. But if you always want to connect to a faster port, then make sure you learn which one is the faster port, and that happens to be the one on the left.
