A new leak spills the beans on the upcoming MacBook with A18 Pro, and it highlights all the features that are not coming with the notebook.

Apple is Making Big Compromises with its A18 Pro MacBook, According to Leaked Information, But the Average User Won’t Care

Apple is definitely going to cut a lot of corners if it wants to keep the price of the new MacBook down. For starters, the A18 Pro is a solid starting point in the list of compromises.

However, a leak posted on Weibo goes the extra mile and shares the compromises in the new budget MacBook, and I’ll try to keep it as simple as possible for everyone who is reading this.

First and foremost, the display isn’t going to be that bright, and will be less bright than the one found in the MacBook Air. Secondly, the notebook won’t have True Tone, which means this MacBook will not adjust the warm tone of the display to match your ambience.

If you’re a fan of fast charging, then you will be disappointed to learn that this MacBook won’t feature it at all. I’m guessing this notebook will top out around 27W or 30W charging speeds, nothing more, which isn’t bad.

When it comes to storage, it will be limited. Users will be able to choose between 256GB and 512GB storage options, and there won’t be higher-end tiers. And the RAM is said to be 8GB, and probably won’t be upgradable, and I believe it won’t be, in order to keep things simple for buyers.

The SSD is said to be slower than the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. I mean, obviously it must be, and even if it’s 1/3rd the speed, an average user simply does not care about such a thing.

When it comes to connectivity, Apple isn’t going to ship this MacBook with its N1 chip. Instead, it will have a MediaTek Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip.

Lastly, the A18 Pro MacBook won’t feature a backlit keyboard either. Whether it’s a good thing or a bad one remains to be seen, because this is the sort of thing only YouTubers will point out more than an average user.

I think it’s silly to assume too much from a product that is meant to cost low, and every single year people fail to understand this point. Why would Apple ship flagship-level features in its cheapest product anyway? It’s being sold cheap for a reason.

Apple is going to announce this notebook on March 4th. There are other products expected as well, but Apple will likely put its focus on this MacBook since it covers an important price point.
