Apple has officially stopped signing iOS 26.2 and iPadOS 26.2, which means you cannot downgrade from iOS 26.2.1 and iPadOS 26.2.1.

iOS 26.2 and iPadOS 26.2 No Longer Signed, Apple Blocks Downgrades from iOS 26.2.1 and iPadOS 26.2.1

If you’ve updated to iOS 26.2.1 or iPadOS 26.2.1, then you can no longer downgrade to iOS 26.2 or iPadOS 26.2. The reason for that is simple: because Apple isn’t signing the older firmware anymore.

Honestly, there is no reason why you should downgrade to the older firmware on iPhone or iPad in the first place. iOS 26.2.1 and iPadOS 26.2.1 are packed with a ton of bug fixes, something which everyone needs in this hour.

In order to download the latest software update, go to Settings > General > Software Update on your device. Once you see the 26.2.1 update, tap on the Update Now button.

While everyone is here enjoying the iOS 26.2.1 and iPadOS 26.2.1 updates, do keep in mind that Apple will likely release the first RC of iOS 26.3 and iPadOS 26.3 this week, with the final set for release the week after.

We can expect more bug fixes and improvements across the board with the new updates, and then look forward to iOS 26.4 and iPadOS 26.4, which is set to bring the new and advanced Siri to the masses that is powered by Gemini.

I’ll be surprised if Apple decides to skip iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 completely for the introduction of new Siri, and instead decides to release it with iOS 27 and iPadOS 27. I really hope that doesn’t happen, because fans have been waiting for this revamp for a long time, and further delays will absolutely water down the hype.
