WhatsApp is testing a version of the app for iPhone with support for multiple accounts. The app is currently available in TestFlight only.

WhatsApp for iPhone is About to Get Multiple Account Support, Allowing Users to Use Two Accounts Side-by-Side on the Same Device

At the time of writing, WhatsApp supports a single account on iPhone. You sign into it either using a phone number or an already-existing account that was set up using another phone.

That is about to change, and users will be able to sign into two different accounts on WhatsApp along with the ability to switch between them whenever needed.

If you have an iPhone with a dual-SIM setup, you will be able to use two phone numbers at the same time on WhatsApp as well. Both numbers will have their own chat history, backups, and more.

Have an Android phone with a WhatsApp account? You can sign into your iPhone using a QR code and start receiving messages in one place alongside your primary account.

The only problem is, this version of WhatsApp is currently in beta, available to TestFlight users only, and there’s no telling when it will become available for everyone to download.

There’s no timeline as to when this update will start to roll out. But given that the feature is in beta right now, it’s safe to assume it will be released sooner rather than later.

I’m going to assume that this change will roll out to WhatsApp for iPad as well. If it does, then it will definitely come in handy.
