Apple has just announced a new accessory for the iPhone, and it is called the iPhone Pocket. It will be available to buy in select locations.

iPhone Pocket is a Fun Little Way to Carry Your iPhone Around, Available from November 14th in Select Apple Store Locations

Apple does a bunch of straightforward accessories for iPhone. This includes cases, MagSafe wallets, and all the usual things you expect for a smartphone.

Things start to get interesting when Apple starts experimenting with strange and wonderful things. The Crossbody Strap is a great example of that, and now, the iPhone Pocket is joining the lineup.

Apple says the iPhone Pocket is developed in collaboration with ISSEY MIYAKE. And, it is a ‘singular 3D-knitted construction’ that fits any iPhone model at all. In other words, it’s made from a stretchy material.

It is available in two sizes, one with a short strap for $149.95, and a long strap version that will sell for $229.95. And, you will be able to buy it in several color options so that it matches your iPhone color and style.

Those color options include: lemon, mandarin, purple, pink, peacock, sapphire, cinnamon, and black. The long strap version of the iPhone Pocket is available in: sapphire, cinnamon, and black.

Apple says the iPhone Pocket will be available from the 14th of November in the following countries: France, Greater China, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, the UK, and the U.S.

If you think the iPhone Pocket looks similar to something from the past, then you’re not wrong at all. Because it does resemble a very old accessory from Apple called iPod Socks, a product that was discontinued in 2012.

I wouldn’t say that the iPhone Pocket is a reincarnation of that, but the idea is very similar. But priced at $149.95, I’m not sure if it’s going to be a very good sell among users.
