Apple Announces iPhone 17 with Fast A19 Chip, Improved Cameras, ProMotion, More
Apple is not holding back with it comes to the base model iPhone 17. It is packed with great new features, and it all starts with the new 6.3-inch display, which was previously exclusive to the iPhone 16 Pro.
It’s a Super Retina XDR display, features always-on capabilities, includes the 120Hz ProMotion from the iPhone Pro, and it offers up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness outdoors.
The front display utilizes Ceramic Shield 2, allowing for three times better scratch protection and enhanced anti-glare performance.
With an improved 18-megapixel front-facing camera, you can capture everything in stunning detail. But wait, it’s a Center Stage camera, and it uses AI to keep everyone in focus, in frame, and leveled no matter how you hold the iPhone 17.
There are two cameras at the back – wide and ultra-wide. Both of those cameras offer 48-megapixel resolution for stunning quality regardless of which lens you use.
Powered by the A19 chip, not only is this iPhone fast, thanks to its 6-core CPU, 5-core GPU, but offers all-day battery life as well. Apple even says that each GPU core has a built-in Neutral Accelerator, allowing the iPhone to run powerful generative AI models on device.
Apple is also using its custom N1 wireless chip in the iPhone 17 bringing Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread to everyone.
Price and Release Date
The iPhone 17 surprisingly starts at just $799, and is available in lavender, mist blue, sage, white, and black finishes.
You will be able to order the iPhone 17 this Friday, and it will be available on 19th of September.
