An Apple Watch with Touch ID was not on my bingo card, and according to leaked code from Apple, it might just happen too.

Apple is Working on Apple Watch Model with Touch ID, According to Leaked Code – But will it Ever be Released?

Apple’s leaked code spilled the beans on a lot of things recently. From a new HomePod mini to an iPad powered by the A18 chip, it’s all there.

But, Macworld has revealed more stuff in the code, and this time things are getting very interesting.

According to the leaked code, Apple is working on an Apple Watch model with a Touch ID sensor built into it. With biometric authentication available on Apple Watch, it will make a lot of things secure.

For example, users will be able to authenticate Apple Pay payments using Touch ID, or just enter passwords if they so wish.

Though we have no clue how the Touch ID sensor will be implemented on Apple Watch, I’m going to take a guess and say that the sensor will live inside the side button, just like how it does on iPad.

It just makes perfect sense to be there, nowhere else.

Do keep one thing in mind: this Apple Watch model is likely a prototype and might not see the light of day for a long time. At least it’s not happening this year.
