Apple has just released iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 developer beta 2 for iPhone and iPad, and you can download it right away.

iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 Developer Beta 2 Now Available for Download with Bug Fixes and Tons of Other Improvements

The first beta has been around for quite a while, but it wasn’t the most stable operating system since it’s the initial release. With developer beta 2 of iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 available, you will immediately see improvement in a lot of areas.

Downloading and installing the update is simple, and all you have to do is follow these steps, assuming you have the first developer beta installed:

  • Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
  • Launch the Settings app.
  • Go to General > Software Update.
  • Tap on Update Now when iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 developer beta 2 shows up.

There are definitely going to be many changes in this update, and I’ll highlight each and every single one in a list, so make sure you are on a lookout for that.

The public beta of iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 isn’t available for download yet, and Apple says it should be available next month, in July. When that is available for download, iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 beta will be very stable to use as well.

If you are planning to take the developer beta for a spin, you can do so using a free Developer Program account. Apple doesn’t charge $99 a year to access beta software anymore. You will find all the details about it by going to this link.

Even with developer beta 2 out, I will still not recommend installing it on your primary iPhone or iPad. Make sure you understand the risks involved when testing out beta software.

A lot of things can go wrong, including loss of data.

The full and final version of iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 will become available for download later this year, right before the new iPhone lineup goes on sale. This also means Liquid Glass is pretty far away from being on your device, especially if you aren’t willing to test out the beta.

Though iOS 26 for iPhone is a huge upgrade, I’m more excited about iPadOS 26 on my iPad. I want to experience the new windowing system and finally replace my MacBook Air and iMac for most work-related tasks.

Looks like this is going to be a big year for iPad believers.
