The latest ad from Apple shows off stickers on the iPhone 17 Pro’s camera plateau, something a lot of people are into.
Apple Highlights the Trend of Adding Stickers to the iPhone 17 Pro Camera Plateau in Latest Ad
When the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max first came out, a lot of people called the camera plateau ‘wasted space’ and that the older camera arrangement with the flash next to the camera lenses worked fine.
At that time, I came across a post on Threads of someone saying people are going to use this space really creatively, just give it some time. And rightly so, soon after launch, a ton of users started slapping stickers on the camera plateau.
Apple now has an ad for the sticker craze, and rightfully says ‘Stick it here.’
The thing is, a lot of geeks out there will use their iPhone in the most minimal way – just a clear case, and no stickers. But obviously, a ton of people don’t live that way, and they love personalizing what they get.
Haven’t you ever seen those iPad lifestyle videos in which they use a colorful Apple Pencil tip? Or those MacBook Neo videos where people are customizing them in all sorts of wonderful ways? That’s how an average user lives, and somehow, the ‘experts’ on YouTube never get it.
I didn’t want this to be a micro rant at all, but it just amazes me how a lot of YouTubers and pundits are completely disconnected from how people customize their gadgets.
And yes, in case you’re wondering, people even customize the camera plateau on the iPhone Air. Just look it up on social media, you’ll find a ton of Shorts and Reels on it.
