You can now download and install the new macOS 26 Tahoe developer beta 4 update on your Mac right away.

macOS 26 Tahoe Developer Beta 4 Update Now Available for Download with Bug Fixes and Loads of Improvements

It’s an exciting year for the Mac, because Liquid Glass is coming to the desktop as well with the new macOS 26 Tahoe update. This means a very consistent UI experience across different devices, including iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and even Apple TV.

However, all of that is coming later this year, and we have to deal with beta software before we reach our destination.

Just now, Apple has released developer beta 4 of macOS 26 Tahoe, and you can download it right away on your Mac. If you’re already running developer beta 3, then download the update over the air by following these steps:

  • Launch System Settings.
  • Click on General, then go to Software Update.
  • When the new beta shows up, click on Update Now next to it.

The new update has a build number of 25A5316i.

If you’ve been patiently waiting for the macOS 26 Tahoe public beta, it’s very likely that it will be released in the next couple of days. Although the developer beta is free of charge for everyone and anyone, but I will recommend going ahead with the public beta instead.

Though public beta software is extremely stable for use on a daily basis, I would not recommend installing it on your one and only device. In this case, it’s your Mac.

Anyway, if there are noticeable changes in this new developer beta of macOS 26 Tahoe, I will highlight them in a separate post. Apple has definitely moved things around in this update and will continue to do so for the next few betas as well.

Apple has announced officially that macOS 26 Tahoe is the last update for Intel-powered Macs. After that, Mac computers powered by Apple silicon will receive further software updates only.

If you were planning to test out the beta on an Intel Mac, it’s best you go through the compatibility list right now to ensure your Mac is or isn’t supported.
