Beta 2 of tvOS 26 with Liquid Glass redesign and other features is now available to download for the Apple TV.
Apple’s tvOS 26 Developer Beta 2 Now Available for Download and Install on Apple TV
Apple’s Liquid Glass redesign is coming to Apple TV with tvOS 26. Apart from that, there isn’t much, which is fine, given how tvOS updates work.
Today, Apple has released beta 2 of tvOS 26 and you can download it right away, if you have been testing out the first developer beta on Apple TV.
In order to download and install tvOS 26 developer beta 2, just follow these steps:
- Launch the Settings app on your Apple TV.
- Scroll down and open System.
- Open Software Updates.
- Now open Update Software and download the new tvOS 26 developer beta.
The installation won’t take that long, but it’s important that you do not touch your Apple TV during the entire installation process. Once complete, you’ll be upgraded to a more stable version of tvOS 26.
And yes, anyone can go ahead and download the new tvOS 26 beta, although the update will be available for public beta testers next month.
Remember, once you download the tvOS 26 beta, you cannot downgrade back to tvOS 18 unless you have a very specific Apple TV model with a USB-C port on its back.
If you don’t see the Liquid Glass UI on Apple TV after downloading tvOS 26 beta, then it means you have a very old model. It takes a lot of processing power to make Liquid Glass work, so it makes sense that it’s not available on older Apple TV models.
