Apple’s new tvOS 26 software update is now official for the Apple TV, and it features the newly announced Liquid Glass design language.
tvOS 26 Focuses on Less New Features and More on Liquid Glass
Apple is bringing Liquid Glass to the Apple TV with the tvOS 26 update. From the Home Screen all the way to Control Center, the new design language has taken over the Apple TV for a more refined and modern look.
Updates to Apple TV App
With new poster art, and a brand new design, you get to see more movies and TV shows in view compared to before. Apple is really pushing for a more immersive experience here.
Karaoke Comes to Apple TV
Your iPhone turns into a microphone, and you can sing along to your favorite songs in Apple Music in a beautiful all-screen lyric view.
Multiple users can join in with their iPhones and take the stage, or mic, so they say.
FaceTime is More Consistent
Contact Posters are now available on tvOS 26, and the FaceTime UI is more consistent with iPhone, iPad, and the Mac.
Apple has kept it nice and simple with tvOS 26, and the strict focus is here on design, nothing else.
Compatibility
Though tvOS 26 is compatible with a ten-year-old Apple TV model, do keep in mind that the Liquid Glass UI is limited to recent 4K models only.
The update is available right now as a developer beta and you can take it for a spin today.
