I honestly don’t know what the fuss is about, but not a single Meta app had Apple Intelligence support since day one.
Facebook, Instagram, Threads, WhatsApp and Other Meta Apps Never had Apple Intelligence Support
The world is waking up to an obvious fact today – all of Meta’s apps, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Threads – don’t have Apple Intelligence support.
It’s been like that since day one too.
By day one, I mean ever since iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 was released for iPhone and iPad with the first wave of AI features including Writing Tools.
You can check right now too. Just type anything in that status update field and see if you can summon Writing Tools. It’s not there, and never has been. It’s not like Meta took the feature away some nights ago and we’re discovering it now.
The funny thing is, you can open Facebook, Facebook, Threads or any other service on the web and Writing Tools works normally on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Do keep in mind that developers have the choice to completely bypass Apple intelligence in their apps in favor of absolutely nothing.
Meta has taken a route which Apple offers to everyone and it would be blunt to say that Meta is ‘blocking’ the use of AI.
