Seems like Apple’s upcoming ‘thinner and lighter’ Vision headset will carry the ‘Air’ moniker in its name.

Apple Vision Air Headset will be Thinner and Lighter, Will be Made from Titanium and Come in Midnight Color

News shared by Bloomberg a few days ago shed light on something interesting – Apple working on a thinner and lighter version of the Vision headset.

Fast forward to this day and Kosutami on X has shared some interesting information regarding the headset.

First of all, Apple is going to use titanium to keep the weight down which tackles the ‘lighter’ part. But, the headset won’t be made of titanium in its entirety. Apple is going to use aluminum as well.

Secondly, the headset is said to be thinner, which gives us a hint to why the ‘Air’ moniker is being used to describe it. However, it remains to be seen if technology has matured enough to make the headset thinner or is Apple planning to make some compromises.

The Vision Air headset will reportedly be available in Silver and a Midnight Blue-like finish. And, to keep things interesting, Kosutami has shared a photo of the Vision Air power cable in the Midnight finish as well.

News regarding a new Vision headset has been around for quite a while. With the above information available, it all starts to make sense.

Apple wants to tackle the two main issues with the headset first – it wants to make it thinner and lighter. An older report suggested that Apple wants to bring the price down as well, and I’m certain that it will.

Priced at $3,499, it’s not a mass market product in any way, even Tim Cook admits to that. Once the price drops under $1,999, a lot of people can actually think about buying a Vision headset as an everyday computer.
