The new 27.3 betas are out, and here’s everything that’s new specifically in iOS 27.3 and watchOS 27.3 beta updates.
From Apple Intelligence in China to Huge Changes in Safari, iOS 27.3 and watchOS 27.3 Include a Ton of New Features and Changes
Apple released the first beta of iOS 27.3 and other updates yesterday. All the updates are packed with something new, but the ones worthy of talking about are iOS 27.3 and watchOS 27.3, because they bring very important changes to the table. Let’s just jump right into it.
Apple Intelligence Comes to China
Those who live in China will be pleased to learn that Apple Intelligence is coming to their devices with the 27.3 software update from Apple. But Siri AI is not yet available.
AI Health App Make a Comeback
Remember the AI-powered Health app which was supposed to be a part of iOS 27.2? Well, it’s back again in the new iOS 27.3 beta.
Reachability Comes to iPhone Duo
Swipe on the left or right edge of the display, and the elements on the opposite side of the display will come close to you. This works on the outer display of the iPhone Duo.
Tweaked Keyboard on iPhone Duo
Though there was nothing wrong with the iPhone Duo software keyboard, the keys are now slightly thinner and taller.
Record Yourself with Selfie Sing
In Apple Music, you can record yourself while singing karaoke. I’m not sure if this feature was necessary, but Apple is throwing it in anyway.
Big Updates to Siri AI
Siri AI is getting new actions in apps like Mail, Weather, Safari, Files, Calendar, Journal, and more. This means you can do things like organize your content in the Files app, or maybe even delete your history in Safari.
Siri Comes to Camera App on More Devices
Just like the newer iPhone models, there’s now a dedicated Siri option in the Camera app for devices as old as iPhone 15 Pro. M1-powered iPads are also getting this feature.
New Vertical Tabs Layout in Safari
If you like your tabs to be vertical, on the left side of the display, you can now have them like that. I still prefer the current view, where tabs sit at the top.
Adaptive Dark Mode in Safari
Are you browsing a website that doesn’t support dark mode? Safari will turn it dark for you. I’m so glad this feature has made it to Safari.
Live Rewind Comes to Apple Watch
This was an important feature on the latest Apple Watch models, allowing you to go back 15 seconds in time to see what was said around you.
Siri Recap Makes an Entrance too
Another feature which was part of the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 announcement, your Apple Watch can give you a debriefing based on what happened around you for a set period of time.
