The new tvOS 27.2 update for Apple TV and HomePod Software 27.2 for HomePod are now available for download.
Apple Releases tvOS 27.2 for Apple TV, and HomePod Software 27.2 for HomePod, Download Both Today
Your Apple TV and HomePod have new software updates, which you should download right away. For Apple TV, the new tvOS 27.2 update is available over the air, and you can download it by going to Settings > System > Software Updates > Update Software.
You can manually download the HomePod Software 27.2 update from the Home app using your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Just launch the Home app, tap/click the “three dots” icon, then open “Home Settings” and download the new update from the “Software Update” section.
Since these updates mainly focus on bug fixes and performance improvements, therefore it is recommended that you install them immediately.
However, on HomePod you get support for Sound Glow on the HomePod mini 2 and the second-generation HomePod, and support for using HomePod mini 2 in a four-speaker home theater setup with Apple TV.
If you have already downloaded the tvOS 27.2 and HomePod Software 27.2 RC updates, you don’t have to do anything at all.
