Apple Music is getting an official new look, starting with a logo that has been created using actual sound waves.
Apple Unveils Official New Look of Apple Music, Created by Real People, Sound Waves, and Cameras
Thanks to AI, everyone can pretend to design stuff these days. When it comes to Apple, the company takes things seriously, and the redesign of Apple Music is no joke at all.
We’ve seen the new Apple Music icon in iOS 27.2 already, and that is part of a big redesign to the service that will eventually start to roll out soon. However, the new brand identity comes to life using actual sound waves, and zero AI slop.
Just real people doing real hard work to create something unique.
Apple took the logo, dipped it in water, and played a sound wave, and recorded the whole thing using cameras. This was done in collaboration with Fred again.. and NEST Acoustics.
The result? You have to see this for yourself in the official behind-the-scene video:
If you thought Apple didn’t take Liquid Glass seriously, the new rebranding should definitely change your mind.
I really hope the image rebrand comes with updates to the official Music app too. While it works great as is, the basic functionality has been largely the same for the past few years.
We should start seeing the revamped image to roll out next week with the release of iOS 27.2, iPadOS 27.2, macOS 27.2, watchOS 27.2, tvOS 27.2, and of course, visionOS 27.2. Currently, all these updates are available as RC builds.
