Apple has just launched its Apple Upgrade program, bringing flexible options to customers for owning an iPhone, iPad, Mac, and more.

Apple Upgrade Brings Payment Flexibility When Buying an iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch

The program is only available in the United States, and is currently available for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch customers. It is powered by Klarna, and it allows users to pay as little as $11.99 a month to own something like an Apple Watch or iPad.

Once the lease term has ended, you can either purchase the device from Apple, upgrade it, or return it back. However, you can save even more money on the lease every month if you trade in a device with Apple.

Apple says that you can either select a 12-month or 24-month leasing option for select devices. And yes, there are a lot of asterisks before you start your lease, for example, if you’re choosing an iPhone, you’ll get a carrier locked device, prepaid plans aren’t supported, and MVNOs aren’t supported either.

Another important thing to note is this: the program is subject to approval and not everyone can get in. Apple does say that the approval process is very quick from Klarna’s end, and you’ll be subject to a small credit inquiry, and your credit score won’t be affected.

Apple says you only to pay as little as $11.99 a month for Apple Watch, $17.99 a month for iPhone, $24.99 for Mac, and $11.99 for iPad. Again, you can lower these rates further if you combine it with Apple Trade In.

Apple has also announced that it is retiring the iPhone Upgrade Program, and users can continue forward with a new device using the Apple Upgrade program instead.
