Developer beta 3 of tvOS 27 software update for the Apple TV is now available for download over the air.

Apple Releases Beta 3 of tvOS 27 for Apple TV with More Bug Fixes, and Performance Enhancements

I have a solid hunch that tvOS 27 is a sneaky little update that will ultimately shine when new Apple TV or HomePod hardware is announced by Apple either later this year, or maybe early next year.

Until that happens, we have to deal with a software update that brings small changes to the current Apple TV lineup, including support for lossless Apple Music playback, videos in Apple Podcasts, and more.

If you’re a fan of Apple TV, there’s a chance you went ahead and installed the tvOS 27 beta on your Apple TV as well. Assuming, you currently have tvOS 27 beta 2 running, here’s how you can install beta 3 on your device right away:

  • Turn on your Apple TV.
  • Open the Settings app.
  • Now open System at the bottom.
  • Open Software Updates.
  • Just open Update Software and download the beta 3 update.

tvOS 27 beta 3 has the following build number: 24J5315i

If you have iOS 27, iPadOS 27, or macOS 27 installed on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, then you can update to tvOS 27 beta 3 using the Home app as well. Just launch the Home app, tap the ‘more options’ button at the top right, and then open Home Settings. Over here, open Software Update, and update your Apple TV running tvOS 27.

You can install tvOS 27 on your Apple TV by following the tutorial posted here.
