The developer beta 2 of tvOS 27 is now available for download on Apple TV, and if you’re testing beta 1, you can install it over the air.

Apple Releases Developer Beta 2 of tvOS 27 for Apple TV with More Improvements, and Bug Fixes

Apple didn’t say much about tvOS 27, yet it will be released later this year with a handful of important features such as video in Apple Podcasts. And if you jumped onboard the tvOS 27 beta bandwagon, then you should be excited to learn that you can download beta 2 right now.

The new developer beta of tvOS 27 is available to download over the air, and all you have to do is go to Settings > System > Software Updates > Update Software in order to grab beta 2.

I will recommend that you install the update immediately to ensure that your Apple TV keeps on functioning properly, especially if it is being used as a hub for your Apple Home setup.

Apple says the new tvOS 27 beta 2 has the following build number: 24J5305f

If you’re interested in testing out the new tvOS 27 beta, you will find all the necessary details posted here. And do keep in mind that you cannot downgrade your Apple TV once you do upgrade, because tvOS 27 does not support any Apple TV model that has a USB-C port on it.

There is a high chance Apple will properly talk about tvOS 27 once it has announced brand new hardware for it later this year. A HomePod with a built-in display seems like a likely device, including a new Apple TV model with a faster processor so that it handles the new Siri AI like a champ.

Given Apple went from no Siri AI at all to it being everywhere all of a sudden, it makes sense that we should expect upgraded hardware from Apple that takes full advantage of the new Siri. This also means a lot of capable devices will be left behind as well, with Apple Watch being a prime example of it, as Apple has dropped support for a lot of models with watchOS 27.
