The new iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 beta 2 updates have been out for a while now, and here’s everything new for iPhone and iPad users.
Apple has Added a Bunch of Great Changes to iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 Beta 2, Here’s Everything Noteworthy and New
Apple tends to change things around in early betas of a major software update. With iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 beta 2, Apple has done the same. However, the changes aren’t that huge, but some things are very noticeable.
Apple Wallet Insights
If you use Apple Wallet, then you will see spending insights right within the app. This is a very big deal, because you no longer have to install third-party apps in order to do this.
Custom Siri Voice
iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 allows you to customize the voice of Siri on devices like iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone Air, etc. The feature’s setting page has been rolled out in the latest beta, but you can’t use it just yet.
In-Line Replies in RCS
You can now reply to specific RCS messages in the Messages app on iPhone. Just tap and hold on a message, and then press on Reply, just like iMessage, except on green bubbles.
Delete Multiple Conversations in Siri App
In the dedicated Siri app, you can now select and delete multiple conversations at a time. Great for times when you want to clean things up in bulk.
Update Apple TV Using Home App
Whenever a new tvOS update is released, you have to turn on your Apple TV in order to install it. With the new beta 2 of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, you can do that straight from the Home app.
I’ve noticed that there is some confusion regarding this feature on social media. Whenever someone posts about it, someone will say that this feature has been around for a while. Yes, it has been, but for HomePod, not Apple TV.
More Stability and Speed Improvements
Beta 2 of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 is even faster and more stable than the first one. It’s amazing how Apple is able to accomplish this, especially given this is unfinished software.
