Apple has released new firmware updates for AirPods Pro 3 and AirPods Pro 2 – 8B41, and 8B40, respectively.

Apple has Released Firmware Update 8B41 for AirPods Pro 3, and 8B40 for AirPods Pro 2 with Bug Fixes

If you love the software side of AirPods, then you’ll find it exciting that the AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods Pro 3 just received new firmware updates a while ago.

Currently, your AirPods Pro 2 are likely running 8B39, and with the latest update, that number jumps to 8B40. For AirPods Pro 3 users, you get a small jump from 8B40 to 8B41.

Since this is a small change in version number, therefore it’s safe to assume that this is nothing but a bug-fix update. You may even see improved noise cancellation, improved battery life, things like that, but do keep in mind that’s not always guaranteed.

Given that the update is rolling out right now for everyone with a compatible pair of AirPods Pro, you can force the update onto yours by following this tutorial.

Basically, you have to connect your AirPods to your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, and then connect the charging case to a power outlet. After about 30 minutes, the new firmware update should be installed.
