The latest update for CarPlay changes a lot of things, and the app now has clearly labeled tabs for contacts, favorites, and call history.
This simple change makes the app instantly useful because you don’t have to completely rely on Siri for performing simple tasks such as making a phone call to a recent contact.
Do keep in mind that the CarPlay version of any messaging remains restricted for obvious safety reasons. The same rule applies to WhatsApp as well. If you were hoping to see a threaded conversation on your car’s infotainment system, that’s not happening.
