The Apple iPhone 17e is now official. It comes with a ton of new features, including A19 as well as MagSafe.

iPhone 17e is Now Official with A19, MagSafe, 48MP Camera, C1X, and More

In terms of design, the iPhone 17e is very similar to the iPhone 16e which was announced last year. This also means the rumored Dynamic Island didn’t make it and there’s still a notch, which isn’t a bad thing, to be quite honest.

Enhanced Durability

Apple says the new iPhone 17e has enhanced durability and features a Ceramic Shield 2 front cover for protection against drops and scratches. Not only that, the IP68 rating ensures the smartphone is able to withstand being submerged in water at a depth of 6 meters for up to 30 minutes.

Super Retina XDR Display

Just like the iPhone 16e, the new 17e features the Super Retina XDR display, allowing you to experience Dolby Vision content with a peak brightness of up to 1200 nits. And just like before, there’s Face ID for unlocking your iPhone and authenticating purchases.

And yes, it’s still a 6.1-inch display which makes it the smallest and most handy iPhone in the entire lineup.

A19 Chip

The new iPhone 17e is powered by the same A19 chip found in the iPhone 17. It features a 6-core CPU, and 4-core GPU with Neural Accelerators, allowing you to experience the best of iOS 26 without dropping a single frame.

The 16-core Neural Engine is also present, ensuring AI tasks, including Apple Intelligence zips through your everyday life without making you wait for anything at all.

C1X Modem

Apple is using its own C1X modem in the iPhone 17e, ensuring better battery life, faster download speeds, and improved efficiency in daily use.

Apple says the C1X in 17e is two times faster than the C1 modem found in the iPhone 16e.

It’s somewhat strange that the N1 chip didn’t make it to the 17e, which means it does not feature Wi-Fi 7. In fact, the 17e is limited to Wi-Fi 6 connectivity only.

MagSafe (Finally)

If you cared about MagSafe a lot, then you will be pleased to learn that Apple is not skipping it on the iPhone 17e. This means your favorite MagSafe or Qi2 will stick to the back of the 17e and fast charge it at up to 15W speeds.

Using USB-C, Apple says you can charge the iPhone 17e from zero to 50% in just 30 minutes using a 20W or faster charger.

Cameras

The 17e comes with a single 48-megapixel camera, which is capable of recording 4K video in Dolby Vision as well.

Although Apple hasn’t mentioned it, it seems as though it is using the same main camera from the iPhone 17. But a teardown in the near future will reveal that information.

On the front, there’s a 12-megapixel camera for taking selfies and recording video. It’s not a Center Stage camera, which means you don’t get the perks of the square sensor on the 17e.

Storage and Price

The 17e is available in 256GB and 512GB storage options. However, the price still starts at $599, which makes it excellent value for money compared to last year.

The iPhone is available in three color options: black, white, and soft pink.

Availability

Apple says the new iPhone 17e will be available in more than 70 countries, with pre-orders going live on 4th of March. The 17e will be available in stores on the 11th of March.
