Apple has released iOS 26.4 and iPadOS 26.4 beta for iPhone and iPad – here’s everything that is new in these updates.

iOS 26.4 and iPadOS 26.4 Beta Includes a Handful of Changes for iPhone and iPad Users

The highlighting feature of iOS 26.4 and iPadOS 26.4 is video for Apple Podcasts. However, there are bunch of other features and changes that are coming with the updates as well.

Stolen Device Protection

Stolen Device Protection was introduced back in 2023, and it was an optional feature that added an extra layer of protection in case you lost your iPhone. With iOS 26.4, the feature is enabled by default, ensuring your key data doesn’t go into the wrong hands as an extra layer of security is required to access sensitive information such as Passwords.

End-to-End Encryption for RCS Messaging

With iOS 26.4, users will be able to enable end-to-end encryption for messages sent using RCS. This means conversations can stay secure, and they won’t be intercepted that easily, giving you complete peace of mind. But do keep in mind that this feature is currently in beta.

Updates to Apple Music

The Music app has received some design upgrades, with Albums and Playlists getting full-screen artwork support. Not only that, a new feature in Apple Music will tell you about concerts near you, including tour dates, from the artists you love.

Probably the biggest change is the ability to create a playlist using a text prompt with a feature called Playlist Playground. You can just tell Apple Music what sort of music you want to hear, and AI will create a playlist out of it.

Redesigned Wallpaper Gallery

The wallpaper gallery on iPhone has been massively redesigned, and you can download wallpapers from different categories, such as Weather, Emoji, Astronomy, etc., as a pack. This means wallpapers aren’t saved to your iPhone by default, and you can download the ones that are needed on the fly. This should help save a ton of space on iPhones and iPads with base storage.

Urgent Section in Reminders

The Reminders app now has a new Urgent section where your reminders with alarms live. This is definitely a very welcome change as it makes finding reminders with alarms far easier than before.

Everything Else

You can expect the update to include more security fixes, performance related improvements, and bug fixes.
