Apple’s upcoming software update for iPhone and iPad, iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, will focus on performance and improved battery life.

iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 Will Focus on Improving iPhone and iPad Performance and Battery Life

When it comes to performance and battery life, new iOS and iPadOS updates aren’t exactly known for them, and iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 aren’t any different.

According to Mark Gurman in his latest PowerOn newsletter, Apple is going to make code changes to iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 in order to improve performance and battery life.

Apple is also going to tweak Liquid Glass, and hopefully make things look more consistent across the board. The report also says iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 is going to ditch a bunch of old code in order to improve performance.

iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 will also upgrade old apps so that they perform better on iPhone and iPad, something that’s definitely needed, especially on older devices.

The main goal of this under-the-hood cleanup is to make iOS and iPadOS more efficient that will ultimately result in improved battery life.

Previously, it was reported that Apple’s WWDC 2026 will mostly be a boring affair, with strict focus on subtle changes rather than big ones. Apple is also going to announce new AI features for iPhone and iPad as well.
