As we move closer to the launch of Apple’s first-ever folding iPhone, we are being treated to new information about it regularly.
Apple’s Folding iPhone Gets Thoroughly Detailed in New Leak
There are details regarding the folding iPhone all over the internet. For example, we know that it will be powered by the new 2nm A20 Pro chip, it might have a 24MP front-facing camera, and there’s even a render showing what it may even look like.
Today, Instant Digital has chimed in with more details regarding Apple’s folding iPhone, and it’s definitely worth reading.
First and foremost, the new folding device will have volume buttons at the top edge, just like iPad mini, allowing users to easily increase or lower volume. Secondly, the Touch ID power button and Camera Control buttons will be on the right side of the device.
On the back, there’s a plateau like iPhone Air, but this one has two cameras on it arranged horizontally. I’m only going to assume that the second camera is an ultra-wide one, just like the standard iPhone 17 model.
The leaker also says that this plateau will be completely back in color and will not match the overall color of the folding iPhone. Speaking of which, this iPhone is said to launch in just two colors, with the white color option confirmed for launch. It’s unknown what the second color is going to be.
The front-facing camera on the folding iPhone is a hole punch, which ultimately means the Dynamic Island is going to shrink. Very interesting, because that’s what is rumored for the iPhone 18 Pro as well.
Last but not least, Apple is said to ship this iPhone with the biggest battery ever on an iPhone. But that doesn’t mean it will last longer than any other iPhone, because this is a foldable device, and the internal display will definitely sip that battery faster than the external one.
It all boils down to price and how Apple markets this device if it wants to see any success in the consumer market. I’m guessing the winning thing here is going to be the software, allowing users to finally run two apps side-by-side, something that is exclusive to iPads to this day.
The folding iPhone is said to launch at the end of the year alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
