For a limited time only, you can downgrade iOS 26.1 and iPadOS 26.1 to iOS 26.0.1 and iPadOS 26.0.1 on iPhone and iPad – here’s how.
Apple is Signing iOS 26.0.1 and iPadOS 26.0.1, Downgrade from iOS 26.1 and iPadOS 26.1 Possible on iPhone and iPad
Apple released iOS 26.1 and iPodOS 26.1 earlier this week for iPhone and iPad devices. While the update is packed with new features and bug fixes, some users might be wondering how they can downgrade to iOS 26.0.1 and iPadOS 26.0.1 instead.
Since it’s the early days, Apple is still signing the older firmware and you can downgrade from iOS 26.1 and iPadOS 26.1 right now.
But first, there are some things you should know and do.
You Will Lose All Your Files and Settings
The process of downgrading will erase all your files and settings. Therefore backup everything using either iCloud or Finder. You’ll find more details by going here.
Turn Off Find My
You need to disable Find My on your iPhone and iPad in order to restore the iOS 26.0.1 or iPadOS 26.0.1 firmware file. This is a necessary step otherwise you won’t be able to downgrade.
