Planning to trade in your old Vision Pro for something new, like the M5 model? Apple says you cannot do that at all.

Apple Says the Vision Pro Headset isn’t Eligible for Trade-in, But You Can Still Sell it on Your Own to Someone Else

The new M5 Vision Pro was announced by Apple this week, and goes on sale today. Those who already own the M2 model are probably thinking of upgrading, and will likely consider trading it in with Apple to save some money towards the newer model.

Turns out, you cannot trade in your Vision Pro with Apple at all because it’s not an eligible product. Here’s what Apple has to say on the matter:

Apple Vision Pro is not eligible for trade-in. Customers can trade in an eligible product and apply the trade-in value toward the purchase of a qualifying new device or added to an Apple Gift Card.

Given how expensive the Vision Pro is, still starting at a whopping $3,499, not putting it up for trade-in is somewhat strange.

While this may seem like bad news, do keep in mind that you may get better money for your Vision Pro if you’re selling it on your own to someone. While trading in a device is quick and easy, it doesn’t exactly get you the best-possible money. You really cannot change my mind on this, and you know it very well too.

Sure, selling stuff takes effort, especially when there’s a chance of getting scammed by someone. But in between all those risks lies the possibility of getting good value for the product you own.
